An experienced, board-certified, solo obstetrician/gynecologist with an excellent following in the community needs to recruit a colleague due to the rapid growth of her new private practice. The office is equipped to perform LEEP, colposcopy, EMB, pelvic and obstetric ultrasound 2D & 3D, and urodynamic studies. Staff includes one LPN and one MA. The practice utilizes an EMR system.
The current obstetrician/gynecologist has great passion to care for the women in the community, and evidences this in her compassionate, service-oriented approach to her practice. She participates in medical mission trips to under-developed countries. It is important that the incoming physician shares these attitudes and motivations.
The doctor recruited will be residency-trained in Obstetrics & Gynecology and will be/become board-certified in the specialty. A doctor seeking a part-time practice can be accommodated. Call is shared with three Ob/Gyns at The Family Health Center (a FQHC).Initial compensation will consist of a salary in the range of $190,000-230,000 depending on experience and adjusted for less-than-full-time status. Subsequent salary will be productivity-based. Benefits, vacation/CME and partnership are negotiable.
The practice utilizes a 204-private room secondary-level hospital containing a 15-bed LDRP unit with central monitoring and 24-hour in-house anesthesia. The nursery is well equipped to care for neonates born at 34 weeks and beyond. BCHS is JCAHO-accredited at the highest level and ranks in the top 5% nationally for patient safety. EMR and CPOE have been implemented and an Informatics Department has been established. A new surgical center opened in December 2006. The BCHS primary care service area is about 185,000. A Physician Hospital Organization provides operating services, negotiates contracts and deals with managed care issues in support of the private practices. It is NCQA-accredited.
Battle Creek is a city of about 58,000 in a metropolitan area of nearly 100,000. This is a family-centered community offering recreation, entertainment and cultural activities, excellent schools, affordable housing and convenient location. Battle Creek is about halfway between Detroit and Chicago; three major universities and seven small colleges are within an hour=s drive. Its economy is strong and stable, with a diverse and expanding commercial/industrial base that includes a nationally-recognized industrial park containing a land-based port-of-entry.
