Recruiting Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to Join established Neurology Division at Academic Medical Center in West Virginia The Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Division of Neurology is an Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time clinical position to join an expanding neuroscience center within the CAMC Institute of Academic Medicine. As part of a planned growth initiative, CAMC desires to advance access and services to the region and to establish a focus on academic medicine within the Division of Neurology, including the development of an ACGME approved neurology residency program starting in 2022. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will join an established and growing department of 13 neurologists with fellowship training or expertise in pediatric neurology, epilepsy, vascular neurology, neuromuscular, cognitive, headache, neurocritical care, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, and clinical neurophysiology. There is a Level 3 EMU, neurodiagnositc lab, dedicated 28-bed stroke unit, a 12-bed NSICU as well as onsite CARF accredited Medical Rehabilitation Center. Currently, over 1,4000 providers and 91,000 members are participating in various programs sponsored by the WVHN. Under the auspices of the CAMC Institute for Academic medicine, CAMC is a growing academic medical center sponsoring 14 accredited medical residencies and fellowship programs; 3 pharmacy residency programs; a doctoral clinical psychology internship; and a doctoral level School fo Nurse Anesthesia. Our strategic plan includes expansion of GME programs in a number of disciplines over the necxt five years as well asa growing protfoloio of research programs and initiatives. CAMC is home to two regional medical school campuses hosting 160 full-time 3rd and 4th year medical students on site and serves as clinical training site for over 1,500 health sciences students. A new Center for Learning and Research is under construction that will house a 14,000 square foot simulation center and other facilities dedicated to our education and research programs. With over 350 active research protocols and clinical trials, the CAMC research program is accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRP), which recognizes institutional "commitment and scientifically and ethically sound research and to continuous improvement."
