Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network has an immediate need for a full-time Director of Psychology in Allentown, PA. Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, located in beautiful Lehigh Valley, Allentown, PA, is centrally located just 90 minutes west of New York City, 60 minutes north of Philadelphia and 90 minutes south of the Poconos. The Lehigh Valley area is the fastest growing region in Pennsylvania. Urban redevelopment and growth includes: new businesses, sophisticated metropolitan-style housing, four-star restaurants and entertainment venues. Within 10 minutes of the downtown are beautiful suburban neighborhoods, city parks, bike trails, ski areas and more. The academic opportunities in the area include excellent public schools, highly regarded private schools plus 10 colleges and universities. JOB SUMMARY • Assure high quality, evidence-based rehabilitation neuropsychological assessment and treatment services to Good Shepherd patients and families, enhance transdisciplinary care delivery, maximize collaboration with community organizations and academic institutions leading to growth and expansion opportunities. Implement and maintain processes that maximize ability to meet productivity and budget goals ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS LEADERSHIP • Lead team of doctoral, master’s and trainee-level providers, focused on providing highest quality evidence-based assessment and treatment for Good Shepherd patients and families. • Collaborate with leadership team to facilitate transdisciplinary team function to maximize positive rehab outcomes including improved adaptation to current level of function and rehab process, increased therapeutic engagement, reduced lengths of stay, increased discharges to home/community, and to improve social, cognitive and emotional functioning that enhances patients’ ability to remain in and participate in their community of choice. • Align Good Shepherd Psychology Group strategic plan and goals with Good Shepherd organizational strategic plan, goals, key priorities. • Develop/maintain collaborative relationships with existing and potential Good Shepherd and community referral sources, and community-based organizations serving disability populations (e.g, Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living). Identify opportunities to increase service lines, expand service availability across the Good Shepherd continuum of care. • Work with Chief Medical Officer and other team members to develop/deepen relationships with academic institutions, leading to potential academic appointments, engagement in teaching and training across multiple rehab disciplines (e.g., MD/DO, PT, OT, SLP, RN) as well as doctoral level psychology, increased research opportunities, and Graduate Psychology Education (GPE) funding for psychology training program. • Work with Administrative Director of GS Learns/GS Creates to develop psychosocial research lines relevant to PM&R (e.g., community participation, therapeutic engagement). • Support Good Shepherd’s culture of belonging o Integrate Diversity-Equity-Inclusion, well-being and engagement initiatives o Participate in key organizational committees, including Medical Ethics, Patient Safety, Community Health Needs Assessment
