Tennessee Academic Children’s Hospital seeks Pediatric Neuropsychologists Recruiting pediatric neuropsychologists at the Rank of Assistant or Associate Professor The University of Tennessee Health Science Center Department of Pediatrics, in conjunction with the Neuroscience Institute at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, is seeking two full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologists to join the Neurology Division. The Neuropsychologist will join a service within the Neuroscience Institute that currently includes 2 neuropsychologists, 1 pediatric psychologist and 3 psychometrists. ?The Neuroscience Institute has 15 neurologists, 3 neurosurgeons, 1 neurointerventional radiologist, 4 neuroradiologists, 2 neuropsychologists, 1 clinical psychologist, 2 clinical neuroscientists, and 1 neuro-ophthalmologist. In addition to the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program, specialty services include Pediatric Brain Tumor, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, Infantile Epilepsy Center, Pediatric Stroke Center, Tourette Syndrome Center, and Muscular Dystrophy Clinic. The primary role of the neuropsychologist will be to conduct either inpatient and outpatient evaluations at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, or primarily outpatient evaluations. Inpatient evaluations will primarily be in support of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, with consultations for other inpatient units available. Evaluations conducted in our outpatient clinic are medically-based internal referrals from neurology, cardiology, and other hospital departments. Opportunities are also available for the neuropsychologist to work with other disciplines in establishing and maintaining multidisciplinary clinics. Candidates will devote 85% of their time to patient activities. The other 15% of the individual’s time will be devoted to clinical research and teaching. Faculty with funded research would perform proportionally less clinical service. Teaching opportunities currently include extern students, with a fellowship program soon to come. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program, must have completed an APA/CPA-approved internship, and must have the equivalent of two years postdoctoral experience in neuropsychology, with specialized training in pediatric populations. Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible as Health Service Psychologists in the state of Tennessee.
