Recruiting Clinical Neuropsychologist for University of Rochester at the Rank of Assistant or Associate Professor The University of Rochester Epilepsy Center within the Department of Neurology is seeking a full-time Clinical Neuropsychologist at an Assistant or Associate Professor level for a full-time, tenure-track appointment. The UR Medicine Epilepsy Center offers comprehensive epilepsy care, and is the only certified, level 4 Epilepsy Center in the region. Level 4 epilepsy centers have the professional expertise and facilities to provide the highest-level medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.Their experienced epilepsy specialists include pediatric epileptologists (pediatric and adult neurologists with specialized training in epilepsy), researchers, general neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists, and specially trained nurse practitioners, nurses and technologists. The position is mixed inpatient (for psychosocial assessments) and outpatient for neuropsychological testing. The outpatient portion has the option to provide therapy based on interest, but this is not required or expected. The successful candidate will provide neuropsychological assessments and psychological consultations on pediatric and adult patients with a broad range of neurological, psychiatric and somatoform diagnoses, with a specific focus on assessment of persons with epilepsy who are candidates for epilepsy surgery, along with patients with functional neurologic disorders, including non-epileptic seizures. The ideal candidate would have the ability to perform assessments on both pediatric and adult aged patients. This position includes protected time for the successful candidate to pursue research consistent with their interests, as well as to educate residents and fellows about assessment and treatment of cognitive and functional neurologic disorders. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program, must have completed an APA/CPA-approved internship, and must have the equivalent of two years postdoctoral experience in neuropsychology.
