Neurology

We are seeking 1 Neuro-hospitalist on an inpatient general consult service. This is a growth position – not replacement. (Internal medicine hospitalists manage the general and non-neurological care. Strokes are managed by the Stroke program.) The ideal candidate would have experience with management of acute inpatient neurologic disorders. Able to read EEG and comfortable with (although not required) intraoperative EEG monitoring during carotid endarterectomy. We are building an integrated neuroscience model that includes neurology, neuropsychology, neuro-intervention, neurosurgery, and rehabilitative medicine. Advanced Thrombectomy Certified Stroke Center applying for Comprehensive Stroke certification. Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center is a 336-bed regional tertiary hospital. Inpatient rehab unit at Essentia Health Miller Dwan,is a 150-bed hospital. This includes a Neuroscience Unit at Essentia Health’s St. Mary’s Medical Center, comprised of a Neuro Trauma ICU, Neuro Step Down Unit along with general beds.. Practice supported by a wide variety of specialty services. Procedures offered include state-of-the-art electroneurodiagnostics, Rehab Services and comprehensive CT and MRI services Anticipated work schedule: 8 AM – 5PM, 7 days on 7 days off with after hours call split between neurohospitalists and the clinic based general neurologists.
