Academic Neurology Opportunity – Recruiting Pediatric Neurologist with Epilepsy or EEG-Track Clinical Neurophysiology | Brooklyn, NY Position Highlights: •             Dual appointment with adult and pediatric neurology •             Practice focus pediatric epilepsy, and general pediatric neurology •             Video EEG monitoring capabilities -reading adult and pediatric EEG's •              Teaching neurology residents and training medical students from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, SABA University, and NYIT •             Academic appointment at SUNY Downstate, commensurate with experience •             Supportive, collaborative team of two pediatric neurologists •             J-1 visa sponsorship available on a case-by-case basis Department & Community Overview: One Brooklyn health offers a wide array of medical care for children, including primary care, specialized care, behavioral care, surgery and emergency care needs. Located in the heart of Brooklyn, the department is part of a healthcare system dedicated to serving the diverse, underserved communities of Central and Northeast Brooklyn. The program emphasizes equitable neurological care and resource-conscious medical training. Established in a long-standing tradition of training future generations of doctors, our pediatric residency program at Brookdale Hospital has 36 outstanding residents from all over the world. Brookdale Medical Center The Department of Pediatrics at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center operates five ambulatory satellite clinics in Brownsville, providing preventive and acute care for children with over 20,000 annual visits. The department includes 15 pediatric subspecialties, a Level III NICU, and a nationally recognized sickle cell program. The pediatric emergency department treats more than 26,000 children each year. Interfaith Medical Center The Department of Pediatrics at Interfaith Medical Center provides comprehensive care through its ambulatory center at the Bishop-Walker Center, serving as a medical home for pediatric patients. The department offers dedicated adolescent, sickle cell, and neurology services. Interfaith’s emergency department manages pediatric emergencies and coordinates seamlessly with Brookdale’s inpatient unit when hospitalization is required. Kingsbrook Hospital Kingsbrook Hospital operates a 32-bed skilled nursing pediatric facility within Rutland Nursing Home, providing comprehensive care for children ages three months to 18 years. The unit offers sub-acute and short-term rehabilitation, long-term placement, and respite care.
